Turkey

Turkish underage national teams’ level keep on rising in the last decade. U19 team also obtained important results in the last couple of
years. Becoming a regular participant of the European and World Championships at this level, here are some results of the Turkish U19 team in the last years’ major events;

2011 CEV U19 European Championship 8th place

2011 EYOF 1st place

2013 CEV U19 European Championship 5th place

2013 EYOF 3rd place

2013 FIVB U19 World Championship 15th place

2015 CEV U19 European Championship 3rd place

2015 EYOF 7th place

2015 FIVB U19 World Championship 9th place

2017 CEV U19 European Championship 3rd place

2017 EYOF 5th place

Hizal Ümit

Hizal Ümit

Ümit Hızal was born on 4 May 1964 in Ankara. Started playing
volleyball in the year of 1979 for Arçelik. First time he wore the national team jersey was in 1987. He played for Arçelik, Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Paşabahçe, Halkbank and Marmara Koleji teams throughout his playing career and he retired in 2001. He has won several medals and cups during his playing career. 

Right after his playing career is over, Mr. Hızal has started coaching. 

During his coaching career he worked for Galatasaray, Halkbank club teams and Junior, Youth national teams. Mr. Hızal’s biggest success with Turkish national teams is the 3rd place at 2017 CEV U19 European Championship.
