Team profile

Korea



Korea Boys’ team particularly had great results in 1990s. The team finished 3rd at the World Boys’ Championship in 1991 and 1993. The team finished 2nd at the Asian Boys’ Championship in 1997 and won the championship title in 1999.Since 2000s, the team has been out of spotlight in World Level. In 2011, Korea Boys’ team was 14th place at 2011 World Boys’ Championship in Argentina. In 2013, Korea Boys’ team was 10th place at 2013 Boys’ U19 World Championship in Mexico. Unfortunately, the team failed to qualify for 2015 World Boys’ Championship.KOR Team finished 2nd at the 11th Asian Boys’ U19 Championship and was qualified for 2018 World Boys’ U19 Championship. KVA selected best players from high school. Captain CHOI Ikje who won the best setter award at the 11th Asian Boys’ U19 Championship will show best performance with IM Donghyeok who won the best opposite spiker award. Also, PARK Kyeongmin who won the best libero award will play the important role of defense. They will show the best performance to Volleyball fans. The team will start their training for the championship from July 10, 2017. Therefore, we believe that Korea National Boys’ U19 Team will make better result.Head Coach Mr. PARK Wongil has the first experience to lead a National team however he has been serving a head coach of a high school volleyball team for many years and his team had good results in many national volleyball championships. We believe that he will do his best to maximize the performance of the team taking every possible step.

The head coach of Korea National Boys’ U19 Team, Mr. PARK Wongil has the first experience to lead a National team however he has been serving a head coach of a high school volleyball team for many years and his team had good results in many national volleyball championships. We believe that he will do his best to maximize the performance of the team taking every possible step. KOR team was ranked 2nd place at the 11th Asian Boys’ U19 Volleyball Championship and was qualified for 2017 Boys’ World U19 Championship. With his coaching career, he will do his utmost best to make the team strong ever and to raise players’ potential and make a good result in 2017 Boys’ World U19 Championship in Bahrain in August.
