Turkey’s Adis Lagumdzija led the European side with 12 points. The Asian side powered through the match with their dominance on all fronts, scoring off 34 attacks, nine blocks and nine service aces. Turkey had the ability to play in the same level but they could not set up their offence with much precision and consistency. They mostly found difficulty in passing the ball, and in moments when they could do so, their opponents were quick to react on defence. Both sides possessed a powerful frontline but it was a good balance on offence and defence that spelled the difference for Iran.
